Beyond Our Expectations…

I have been meaning to send you a note for two weeks! I just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our tour of Yellowstone. It was beyond our expectations. Our guide was Sarah. She was awesome! She made us feel like we were all friends, out for a ride in Yellowstone together. She was so personable, professional, and a wealth of information about Yellowstone and the surrounding area. We could tell that she really loves what she does. It shows in how she interacts with the people on the tour. We actually missed her the following days when we were still in MT. All week, we kept saying “Sarah said this” and “Sarah said that”. You have an awesome associate working for you!

Thanks for Two Great Tours!

Hi, We took two tours last month (July 2011). Lee was our guide for the Lower Loop tour, and John for the Evening Wildlife tour. We had the most wonderful time on both tours. The fellas were so very knowledgeable and personable. We learned soooo many things about the Park, the whys, whats, wherefores and all sorts of interesting tidbits of info.

Because of the tours, we felt that we had a much better understanding of the park. We headed out on our own to the places we liked the best and wanted to visit again. We were rewarded with more Bison, Elk, Deer and a couple of Rabbits!

We have referred several friends and today my cousin called for the address and phone number. They will be in West Yellowstone later this week. We will take more tours with this group when we return in the near future.

Thanks again to Lee and John.

Sincerely,

Great Summer Private Tour!

Dear Yellowstone Alpen Guides,

I just wanted to say thank you for the great trip we had last week to Yellowstone. Our guide, Denise was superb! She was patient, knowledgeable and really knew the history, natural treasures and the geology of Yellowstone. We were very glad we chose to take the tour with her because we learned so much. My children were given a gift that will last them a lifetime. When we come back, we would very much like to have Denise take us on another tour. We have already recommended you to our family and friends. Thanks again!

Ted

Thank You

Good aft.

Would like to just say an official “thanks” to your organization–and especially to our driver, Dave who was our tour guide on Monday, March 7th to Old Faithful. He was very knowledgeable about the area, often stopping to give us some local Park history information at various spots around the Park. Photography being one of my semi-retired hobbies, he was especially accommodating in stopping at some sites in order for me to take some fun pictures of various scenes or wildlife.

Thanks again for the great experience. My son set the trip up-knowing how beautiful the area was from his snowmobile trips a dozen years or more ago.

Fun With the Grandkids

My family spent the day in Yellowstone on Sunday, March 13 with John. I wanted to tell you what a wonderful time we had. John did an amazing job! He was extremely knowledgeable and very patient with my four granddaughters (ages 9, 10, 11 & 12). They were actually taking notes and planning the extra credit reports they wanted to do for school. At one point Savannah, 9, whispered & said “Grandma, I thought this was going to be BORING, but it really isn’t!” We were thrilled at the variety & numbers of animals we saw – including two coyotes. So, thank you and please also tell John “thank you” again from all of us!

Most Memorable Visit…

Last week my wife Sandra and I took the snow coach tour to Old Faithful area. The trip was exciting. We have been to Yellowstone many times during Spring, Summer and Fall. I think this trip will be the most memorable. We enjoyed the winter tour the most. Your guide Alice made the trip. She gave us facts even I didn’t know about the park and the geology. She offered us a walking tour around Old Faithful. We enjoyed our time with her. Please thank her for such a memorable time in Yellowstone.

Great Day in Yellowstone

Our snowcoach tour started on 2/16/11…destination Old Faithful. We arrived at the office to meet our tour guide. As myself, my girlfriend and another couple were standing in the office anxiously awaiting our tour a small man bolted into the room with his hand extended stating his name was Lee and he would be our tour guide. He then shook hands with all participants in his coach…”the Griz.” We all entered our coach and took our places and the tour begins. As we entered the park our guide Lee was very informational about the history of the park and the history of the snow coaches we were in. The weather was beautiful on our way to Old Faithful, sun was shining temp was great. We were able to see a large eagle nest, several cow elk, coyotes, bald eagle, golden eagle, several bison and the natural beauty of the landscape with in the park. We reached Old Faithful and the snow began…..full fledge blizzard. We did however see Old Faithful blow, had lunch at the firehole lounge wich was very good and roamed the gift shops. On the way out of the park we again seen the bison, elk, a coyote standing in the river and several other small animals. We had an opportunity to get out of the coach and take walk through the mud pots and geo-thermal ponds. During the walk through this area Lee was very good about explaining everything to us not just in present but the diffrences that have evolved over the years and what is expected in the years to come. I would have to say that our snow coach experience was very relaxing, informative and made for a very good day. I think our guide Lee was a man that was knowledgeable about his job, the park and the area in general, he was very interesting person and seemed very passionate about all issues involving the park and the animals that reside within. He had a very good sense of humor which made the experience all that more enjoyable. Overall…..great day. Would do again. The Griz was great very comfortable. Would suggest a speaker for tour guide to talk into so all passengers could easily hear him. Thanks again for a great day. Nice to see the park with the sun shining on the way in and a blizzard on the way out. Chad, kea, dan and tara

Better Than We Expected…

We were a group of 4 adults, one child. We reserved a private coach for the old faithful tour in January. We had an absolutely amazing time. I knew it would be fun, but this exceeded my expectations. The Bombadires was so much fun to ride in. I am so glad I chose this company as opposed to the “run-of-the mill” kind. Our guide John was very informative and friendly. We can’t thank him enough.

Great Winter Trip

On Saturday 2/26 my wife Susan Dostal and I had the pleasure of taking a ride into the Park with our guide, Lee. The trip was great. The coach (DeLacy) was an amazing combination of technology and baling wire. Lee was completely gracious and helpful and informative. It was a great time.

Great Photo Tour

My husband & I were recently on a photography tour in Yellowstone and were extremely impressed with Alpen Guide Joe Moore. We had spent several days in Yellowstone with another company and, being a photographer, I wanted to take as many decent pictures as possible. I understand the limitations of and park rules for some modes of transportation. However, I (and came to learn that others) often felt that they were being used as an excuse, to not have to assist those of us trying to take photographs.

Obviously, the Bombardier design is more photographer friendly. However, that still doesn’t make getting good pictures a no-brainer. The day we left Yellowstone, Dan and I were in the lead Bombardier with Joe Moore, as was another tour member interested in photography. At the first stop that Joe made, my view was blocked despite having my head up through the roof. The other photographer had a straight shot. I asked Joe, one time, if he could move the coach a little so I could get a shot. He did, waiting until the other photographer had gotten her shots. Then, he gladly accommodated me. To my surprise, afterwards, EVERYTIME we stopped for a photo op, Joe always asked if we had good position for taking our pictures and adjusted the Bombardier accordingly. He truly helped us get good shots and made our final day completely enjoyable.

While eating dinner on that final night, Dan & I were speaking with yet another photographer in the group. I commented on how photographer-friendly I found Joe to be and how disappointed I had been previously. This gentleman was in complete agreement. He mentioned that he had noticed how Joe was “making adjustments” for us to take pictures and “…felt like their driver followed suit.” Several other, point & shoot, members of the group came up during the conversation and even they commented on how much better the pictures they took, on that particular day, were.

Our day with Joe was the highlight of our trip. You have a wonderful employee, who takes the time to listen to the clients and help them accomplish their goals. Thank you.

Great Winter Trip!

What a great time. Jane and I enjoyed all of the day. Our guide, “Swanny” was an absolute joy. He was informative of the history, wildlife, weather, politics, you name it. He was also humorous and above all patient. Just a great asset to the experience. I feel guilty that I under tipped him. He made the trip.
The lunches were great.
Next time we’re doing the canyon trip.
Thanks again for a life time experience, Yellowstone in Winter!

Unforgettable Trip…

Hello -

I’m not sure if you’ll remember me, but I was a volunteer helping Henry Holdsworth back in January 2007 on a “Winter in Yellowstone” Arizona Highways Photography Workshop. I had the great pleasure of having Mike Bryers as my snowcoach driver and guide during that workshop. As a direct result of my memorable experience then, when my family decided to return to Yellowstone this past Christmas, we booked our 12/26/10 private charter through Yellowstone Alpen Guides and specifically requested Mike to be our driver.

Thanks entirely to Mike – his unforgettable humor, unmatched knowledge about the park, and extensive kindness – he gave the Sperry family a trip through Yellowstone we will never forget! My two young nephews can’t stop talking about all the eagles and bison they saw during their trip; the five adults can’t stop laughing about all the funny stories and quips Mike shared along the way.

Rest assured, any time we decide to return to Yellowstone, we will be requesting Mike through the Yellowstone Alpen Guides. A big and warm “thanks” to you and especially Mike for enabling our family to have such a wonderful time!

Happy New Year!
Colleen

Winter in Yellowstone

We just wanted to let you all know how much we enjoyed our trip through Yellowstone today. Our guide John did a fantastic job-he was so knowledgeable, professional, and full of information, not to mention a great wildlife spotter! It was truly a very special day for us!

Many thanks,
Bonnie and Oliver Carr

Great Day with the Edwards Family!

Thank you so much for doing business with our family. Denise was a WONDERFUL guide. She was very knowledgeable and accommodating to our “little people”. We were fortunate to see lots of wildlife and have beautiful weather. We would highly recommend your outfit again to anyone interested.

Bears, Bears, Bears…

We booked a tour on Friday on 9th July.
We were picked up at our hotel by John, and had the most wonderful afternoon and early evening.
He was such a good guide….we were with the 2 enthusiastic American couples and saw one black bear and 10 grizzlies!
John let us watch, didn’t rush us and it was a truly memorable day.

So many thanks for making a time to remember, if we revisit, you will be the first web site we go on.
Thanks to Spring (she was so patient with our booking), and to John (I think even he was amazed by the bears on view that day!).

3 Amazing Tours

I had a trip to Montana for a conference, and added a few days to see Yellowstone. I knew I would see the most with a tour group, and was more than pleased with my tours with Yellowstone Alpen Guides. From Spring on the phone and email to the guides for my tours, I had a great experience. I’m ready to come back for winter tours… just need more time off work!
I took 3 tours in 2 days. My first day, I did the morning mist kayak tour. Somehow, I got extremely lucky and had not only amazing weather but a great guide, Brenda. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they didn’t cancel my tour despite the fact that I ended up being the only one that morning. I loved the views of the mountains, Hebgen lake, and some of the birds in the region. My 2nd tour on my 1st day was the upper loop with Connie. I LOVED Connie, is all I have to say – but then again, I have a soft spot for (science) teachers… We had a great trip despite the rain/drizzle. As a result of the not so nice weather, it was actually spectacular for animal viewing; we saw a grizzly eating on a bison carcass with a silver wolf waiting in the distance.

My 3rd tour was the lower loop with Brenda. It was a very well organized trip; we had just enough time to see all the major sites without feeling rushed. If I had done this myself, I would have never been able to see so much in a day. Even though she’s not a true native to the area, she knew an astounding amount of information about all the sights and stops along the way, as well as the park and region in general. I still don’t understand how she’s biked in Yellowstone with shorts in the snow…

Thank you for an amazing experience. The door-to-door pick up and drop off was an added bonus, as was the discount for booking 3 or more tours. I’ll definitely be taking a snow coach tour or 2 or 3 in the future – again, as soon as I find some more vacation time.

Great Tour!

We had a great time on our tour with Lee. Please pass on to him our thanks and praise for the wonderful day. We so enjoyed our day there touring the park. He was very knowledgeable and gave us interesting info at the geyers, about the Fire of 1988 (interesting to know someone who lived trhough it and could give personal insight into the events of those terrible days), history of the early explorers, etc. The picnic luch was very good and more than we expected. We lucked out with great weather and seeing some wildlife too. Only downside to this trip is that we just got a taste of a place we want to explore more. Lee, thanks for the GREAT DAY. We would refer you to anyone who wants to get a great overview of the park with a knowledgeble guide.

Cutter Family Tour

We took a wildlife evening tour on June 16th with Connie. She was awesome! She had an extensive knowledge of Yellowstone and the surrounding area. It was interesting to learn about the area from her. We saw coyote pups, bison, bison calves, elk, pronghorn, pronghorn calves, bighorn sheep, a bald eagle and more. I don’t think we would have seen all that on our own. We also learned a lot about the animals we saw. The tour was so much fun!
Thank you to Connie for giving us such a great experience!

From the Holyman Family

Just wanted to say a great big thank you to both you and Brenda for a fantastic day last week.

We all had an absolutely incredible day and Brenda was a joy throughout. Her knowledge of the area made the day a great learning experience as well as enabling us to see a lot of wildlife. Please pass on our thanks to Brenda and tell her that the buffalo experience was enjoyed by us all!!!

Thanks once again for a great day.

Agnes Leistico Says:

My husband, Dale, daughter, Laurie, son-in-law, Mike, can’t say enough about our experience of two days spent with Dave in Yellowstone on the 4th and 5th. We loved every minute of it. Rain didn’t stop us at all. There was so much to absorb, yet we felt we got most of it! How can we ever forget seeing the mother grizzly with four cubs or the wolves in the distance, let alone all the natural wonders our eyes feasted upon. Dave was the perfect match for us as far as we are concerned. Once we were on our own we got so much more from what we saw and did–though we kept saying we wished he were still with us explaining what we were seeing! An exciting side light was our son-in-law realizing from what Dave told us about the bacteria in the thermal areas that he now needs to return to school to study bacteria as that is much more fascinating to him than his microbiology degree relating to viruses! He has been at “loose ends” becuase something was missing in his life.

Tell him we followed his advice in the Grand Tetons even though the rain was so hard we could not see the Tetons themselves. Unfortunately the wildlife was also taking shelter so we could not see any at the Jackson Hotel.

Thank you for making this an invaluable experience.

Agnes Leistico

Just a note of thanks for the wildlife tour we went on Monday, June 14th with Brenda. We both throughly enjoyed the tour and were more than pleased with our tour guide. Brenda was fantastic!! Her knowledge of the history of the area astounded us. We learned more from listening to her than from the many books I purchased prior to our trip. She pointed out so many points of interest that we would have missed on our own. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Yellowstone. Thanks again to Brenda and your company for making our trip even more enjoyable!!!

We want to hear from you!

Have you been on one of our tours? Then we want to hear from you! We are currently building our guest experience area to hear all about it. Tell us all about your guide, your day, and what you saw.

Jim & Mickey Hardesty Say

We just returned from our trip to Yellowstone and want to thank everyone at Yellowstone Alpen Guides for a great experience. We took two of your tours and our guides Brenda and David were both knowledgeable and personable. The two vehicles we were assigned were comfortable and well maintained. We saw more than we could have on our own and learned a great deal more. We will highly recommend your company to friends and family planning to visit Yellowstone.

Peggy and Arnie Frecker Say

On January 30th, my husband and I and some friends had the very fortunate experience of taking a snowcoach tour from West Yellowstone to Old Faithful. Our guide’s name was David. This was our first winter trip to Yellowstone after having been there many times during the summer and fall months. Needless to say, David made our trip. He explained a lot of the geology of the area, answered questions and was willing to stop when we saw something we wanted to take a picture of.

We just wanted to say THANK YOU to David. Please let him know he made our first winter experience in the park a very memorable AND enjoyable one. We hope to come back!

Hi there in West Yellowstone:

Just a note to thank you. We have been on several tours of all types since we retired and have traveled quite a bit. We went on your Yellowstone July 3rd and 5th. We have never been more informed, more entertained, and more educated than we were with our driver and guide, Jim Berry. He is a modern day Jim Bridger. We plan to return next year and we have spoken to many friends who may travel west. We plan to use your company again and have highly recommended it to our friends. Thank you folks a lot, hope to see you next year.

We had a wonderful tour of Yellowstone over the last weekend. Our driver/guide, Mr. Dan Hoskins was truly excellent. To us he is a historian, scientist, biologist, zoologist and many many more.

We were deeply impressed with his deep and wide-ranged knowledge, enthusiasm, consideration and professionalism. He was kind, personable, fun and attentive to us, a group of 24 mostly elderly Japanese women.

After three days of touring Yellowstone guided by him, we all felt somewhat attached to him, and it was hard to say good-bye at the airport. It was truly one of the best guided tour we ever had as Tanpopo group. Thank you very much for a wonderful tour of Yellowstone. Special “Thanks” to Dan, our guide, on behalf of the whole group.

On January 19th and January 20th my wide Ann and I had the pleasure of experiencing your snowcoach tours to both the Yellowstone Canyon area and to the Old Faithful area. Our driver and guide, Mike, was exceptional. While we have been to Yellowstone in the summer months, we have never experiences winter there until recently. The snowcoach made the extremely cold weather very bearable and Mike’s knowledge and demeanor made the hours fly by.

Please extend our thanks again to Mike for making our brief stay memorable.

I just completed a trip with Ambassadair Travel Club of Indianapolis to Yellowstone national Park on June 26 to June 30, 2002. We had Dan Hoskins for our local guide. What a treasure you have in him. He made the whole trip. He knew all the lore about the Park and had many stories to tell at every stop. He knew which geysers were active and where to stop. His many suggestions made the bus trip more enjoyable. On arrival one of the tourists lost a crown. He helped the Ambassadair guide find a local dentist to get it fixed. All the other tourists agreed and it took only thirty minutes out of our day. With service like that I hated to see the trip end. Congratulations on such an outstanding employee, he reflects well on your company. I have sent Ambassadair a letter informing them of his outstanding job.

Sincerely,
Joyce Brady

Dear Scott,
I would like to thank Yellowstone Alpen Guides, especially our guide Dan, for taking us around Yellowstone Park. We had a very limited time frame, but Dan made the most of it. He was great!! Our board members enjoyed his commentary on Yellowstone. He even had pictures, interesting factoids, and a pair of high powered binoculars to make the trip even more enjoyable.

I would definitely recommend Yellowstone Alpen Guides, especially Dan, for anyone who wanted to get the most out of Yellowstone Park. He was even able to closely predict Old Faithful! The trip was outstanding! Our board members had a wonderful time.

Thanks again!
